Careers & Internships

Internships

The Higher Education program offers an integrated learning experience by requiring each student to complete two internships (6 credits) as part of the plan of study. Students complete these experiences (unpaid or paid) at an approved site and under the supervision of designated on-site supervisor who meets specific qualifications.

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships are paid, 20 hour per week campus work experiences.  Similar to internships they provide students substantive experience in higher education units and functional areas under professional direction and supervision.  Students are employed in these experiences over the course of their time in the program.  The graduate assistantship cannot be a replacement for the internship, however with approval students may use the site when it is time to complete the internship experience.
