鈥淣othing is small in the service of God.鈥 This quote, by Saint Francis de Sales, was the driving force behind the goal to make this year鈥檚 Feast Day festivities more impactful than ever.

In addition to a special Mass, complimentary treats, and a Senior Salesian Soiree, more than 300 community members honored the Feast Day of our patron saint by preparing care packages for those in need. For some students, the event was more than a celebration鈥攊t reminded them why they chose to become a Bulldog.

鈥淲hen I first came to DeSales, I noticed something different from what most campuses have. There鈥檚 a sense of family and community here, and I love being able to help everyone out.鈥

Michael Kozman 鈥27, criminal justice major

Volunteers like Kozman assembled 450 cookie, sandwich, and warm-weather packages. The packages were later delivered to local organizations, including Promise Neighborhoods, Bethlehem Emergency Shelter, Safe Harbor Easton, and New Bethany Ministries.

As students worked side by side with faculty and staff members, they exchanged smiles, chatted joyfully, and reflected on the lasting impact of DeSales鈥 mission.

鈥淭his event exemplifies our culture and values,鈥 says Luke Colarusso 鈥26, who is studying accounting and finance. 鈥淒eSales cares about more than building our education; they build up people. I feel like I鈥檝e become a better person since starting here.鈥

Elyse Discafani 鈥27, majoring in biology, echoed this perspective. 鈥淚 most connect with the values of wisdom and humility because wisdom allows you to learn about who people are, and humility reminds you why it鈥檚 so important to do things like this for each other.鈥
